Helping 8th Graders Find the "Right-Fit" High School

How would you describe a color to someone who has never seen nor can see color? 7th Grade English students asked themselves this question in their reflection on the book The Giver—a dystopian novel in which seeing color was merely a dated, problem-causing trait of the past.

Take a look at the insightful and at times comical poems that were created as a result of this profound question.

Our goal at Congressional during the high school transition period is to help students and parents find the ‘right fit’ high school. By eighth grade, a student’s unique qualities have emerged, helping to make the task of selecting the right high school a more streamlined, personal process.
